O’Loughlins 3-18 Thomastown 1-13

Thomastown were beaten by O’Loughlins in round 2 of the U14 Roinn A hurling league, but despite the scoreline, the losers can feel very heartened by what was a very gutsy display. The concession of a goal just before halftime put O’Loughlins seven points up at the break, and they went on from there in the second half. However, Thomastown kept plugging away and had their own dominant periods during the game, during which, had they had more luck in front of goal, they could have run O’Loughlins much closer at the end.

This should give Thomastown great heart as they face into a game with Callan next Saturday in Grennan.

Thomastown: A. Power, B. Staunton, D. Caulfield, J. Delahunty, J. Cullen, C. Butler (0-3), E. Forristal, P. Burke-Kelly, A. Kehoe (0-1), T. Delahunty, J. Donnelly (0-8), F. Carroll (T. Lalor), C. O’Neill (B. Fitzpatrick), E. O’Keeffe (C. Kelly), B. O’Hanrahan (1-1).
