  • Notice of AGM The AGM of Thomastown GAA Club will be held in the Concert Hall on Thursday 8th December 2016 at 8pm.Nomination/motion forms are available on the club website in the Club News section. The closing date for nominations and motions is Friday 25th November. Nomination forms must be signed and returned to Club Secretary Michael Walsh. Unsigned nominations forms will not be valid. It is important that no nomination is made without the prior consent of the person being nominated. Anyone wishing to submit a motion may do so but must be willing to propose the motion at the meeting.

THE DRIVE FOR FIVE
The Story of Thomastown's Journey to All-Ireland Hurling Success 2012/13
During 2012/13, Thomastown G.A.A. Club’s hurling team created history by emerging from the Co. Kilkenny Junior Championship to subsequently take Leinster and All-Ireland titles. 
Running to over 100 pages, “The Drive for Five” follows the exploits of the team through the early rounds of the county championship, and continues as they venture into the Leinster championship, then onto the sacred ground of Croke Park and ultimately, All-Ireland success.
Commissioned and written by the club for the community, it looks back at the media coverage of the key games and provides an insight into the thoughts of the players, management team and club officials at various stages of the campaign. It recalls, through pictures and words, the odyssey that this team took us all on and the excitement of the community as it followed sons, grandsons, fathers, husbands, brothers, nephews, neighbours and friends on their way to the greatest sporting achievement of their lives. With most of the photos kindly provided by club members and supporters, personal and priceless moments in time are now preserved between the covers of this book for future generations to recall and enjoy.
Previous successes are also remembered, as 2012/13 marks the 30th anniversary of the 1983 intermediate championship title, the 50th anniversary of the 1962 junior championship title and the centenary of the 1913 junior title awarded to Mong Hurling Club. 
Priced at €10, the book is on sale in various retail outlets in Thomastown. Copies may also be ordered directly through Thomastown G.A.A. Club. 


HISTORY MADE AS THOMASTOWN BECOME 
2013 ALL IRELAND JUNIOR HURLING CHAMPIONS
10th February 2013 - Mark it down as the day when Thomastown's hurlers created history in Croke Park when they defeated Fullen Gaels of Manchester by 2-17 to 2-14 to become All Ireland Junior Hurling Champions. This was Thomastown GAA Club's greatest day for almost 70 years ago, and the names of this team will forever sit alongside those of the men who won the County Senior Hurling Championship in 1946.
