New Helmet Standards

posted 9 Feb 2014, 12:10 by Kevin Kelly   [ updated 2 Mar 2014, 12:36 ]
Following motions passed at a special congress in November 2013, the GAA have now notified all clubs of new standards concerning hurling helmets.

The bottom line is that the wearing of any helmet that does not meet the I.S.355 standard, or has been modified, breaches the association's rules. Such helmets are not covered under the players injury scheme.

This I.S.355 is the only standard recognised by the Association and the list of suppliers is as follows:-
O'Neills
Aspis (Smyths Toys)
Azzurri
Cooper Helmets
Marc Helmets
Mycro Helmets
Atak Sports
Please Note: The change in the original communication is............ It is the Cooper Helmet Model SK109 for Adults that meets the I.S.355 approved standards.
