The Junior team played Piltown on Sunday, 31st July in the semi-final of the South Junior Hurling Championship.  The final score was 2.17 to 1.21 to Piltown - a very disappointing result for the hard working Juniors and their coaches and selectors,  From the start the teams were fairly evenly matched in scoring with Thomastown up to 3 points ahead several times.  But PIltown always caught up and at match time the score was 2.13 to 1.15.  Ten minutes of  extra time each way was played with Thomastown pulling ahead by up to 2 points several times but in the end Piltown won by one point.  Dylan Waugh scored 13 points - 12 of which were frees. He also scored the first of two goals early in the second half, the second goal came from Dessie Walsh.  Further points were scored by Jonjo (1), Tucker (1), Michael Donnelly (1) and Darren Burke (1).  Tecker went off in the second half and Michael Donnelly came on and Mick Cullen came on for Derek Lanigan.  A fracas in the first 10 minutes of extra time resulted in one player from each team being sent off.
